2 PhD positions at RWTH Aachen and KTH Stockholm
Forschungszentrum Jülich is looking for two PhD candidates on the topic:
"Development and application of HPC oriented algorithms (towards exascale) and machine-learning-based approaches for atomistic simulations of complex systems."
The degree will be awarded by the University of Aachen and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH). Prospective candidates are expected to physically spend the first half of the PhD in Germany and the second half in Sweden. The positions fit very well with the training provided by the CSiS master programme. Possible candidates would spend time at Wuppertal University during the first part of the doctorate, too.
PhD supervisors will be:

Erik Lindahl: https://scholar.google.co.jp/citations?user=HK-33X4AAAAJ&hl=en (KTH).
A secondment with Michele Parrinello: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=lnkt9rgAAAAJ&hl=en at IIT in Genoa (Italy) is also planned.
The positions are funded on a Marie Curie Doctoral Network project. Candidates can start right away.
