Theoretical Chemistry

The group is mainly involved in the investigation of interactions within and between molecules, and with the simulation of molecular spectra. The Wuppertal group coordinated the Marie Curie Research Training network QUASAAR (Quantitative Spectroscopy for Atmospheric and Astrophysical Research). On the national level the collaboration is primarily with the universities in Cologne and Kassel. The group also has excellent international contacts, for instance with research institutions in Japan, Canada, Spain and the Czech Republic. A recent teaching initiative is Fundamentals of Molecular Symmetry - An internet lecture course.
